Fast forward to a year after David beat cancer! In the summer of 2015, one day in the middle of the night David woke up with a surreal idea for a cold mouthpiece that would help combat mouth sores caused from chemo that would be better than ice chips. He asked himself ‘Why was I using ice chips? Is there a better option?’. In his experience, the ice chips caused extreme nausea during treatments. David had an ah-ha moment, a very ‘there has got to be a better way’ idea.

One very important factor in this survivor story is that David is also a highly educated engineer, graduating with an engineering degree from Columbia University in New York City in 2000. He had the skillset to make this dream a reality and quickly got to work and started sketching and developing Ice Cold Mouthpiece™.

He would spend the next 3+ years passionately working on the Ice Cold Mouthpiece™, with countless models and 3D drafts.
